Hi all,
I have received a Demand Note for Additional Expenses from SJR for about 2.3 Lakhs. Not sure if any of you have received the same.
Since I am away from India, it would be helpful to know if any of you are able to gather more information about this.

I got same demand note too for additional expenses
but there is some misleading information in what they say "additional expenses".
per the payment schedule-additional expense comprise of water,electricity infrastructure costs+ regn+ stamp duty+ legal fee etc
But reg + stamp duty is supposedly to be paid by the buyer directly at the registration office and SJR wont proxy those for ya.
As far as I hve come to know..you will have to make the payment directly at the registration office.
Now here is the hidden catch
for eg: if 3 lac is addition expense( they claim this as approx subject to variation in payment schedule)
Now in my case I asked them to provide details and breakup.
So they provided me a breakup which approx to almost 2 lac for electricity+ water costs.
So they are ( rather I am ) left with just 1 lac under this additional expense head.
Now since they made note that additional expense is variable they could ask you and me the difference amount we will incur when we do the registration.
for eg the registration charge etc will be well over 1 lac.SJR is not going to pay off that amount as eventually it will come down upon us.
I went one step further and asked them to give a correct estimate on what the registration and other misc expenses would come to
it totals to 1lac 65000
So as it turns out i will end up paying 65000/- from my pocket at time of regn .

mine is 2 bed in D block
and the additional expense they demanded as of now exluding regn,stamp duty and legal fee is 2.28lac
I have also received a demand note of additional expenses of Rs 2.63 lakh. If I add the registration amount the cost will go up to Rs4.51 lakh, Whereas the payment schedule says the all expenses including the registration should be Rs 3.15 lakh. The builder is bent on looting us. This expeses were kept hidden until now and never detailed in the sale agreement.
I remember very clearly, they had mentioned in the agreement that there would be a penalty from their side if they do not deliver the apartment before May 2007.
So sjr_blog_moderator, what you are saying is, you were asked to pay more than 2 lakhs but, upon asking for clarification, you are only going to pay 1.65 lakhs?
Yes mine is a 2 BR apt in A Block and I am asked to pay about 2.28 lakhs.

sorry if its confusing
what im saying is builder gave me an additional expense breakup of 1.65 lac which is what i should pay at registration.SJR did not exempt me from any charges.
so im still have to pay their 2.3 lac demand note and at timeof registration pay another 1.6 lac
